Project Information

We’re planning to refresh the exercise equipment in Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) — and we want to make sure any upgrades reflect how you use the space.

Whether you're a regular visitor, a weekend jogger, someone who walks the loop with friends, or someone who might use the equipment if it better suited your needs, your feedback is essential.

What we want to hear from you

There are currently five fitness equipment stations located along the Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) track. Some of this equipment is ageing, no longer functional, and needs to be replaced.

Before we make any decisions, we want to work with you to understand what would best support your needs. You can help us decide whether the equipment should simply be replaced like-for-like, or whether there is an opportunity to introduce new equipment that better reflects how people use the space today.

This is a great opportunity to tell us:

  • how you currently use the equipment,
  • what works well (or doesn’t work)
  • what you would like to see in the future.

Your feedback will help shape the next generation of fitness equipment in Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi.

Tell us what you want to see.

The project strengthens our focus on community health, updates ageing infrastructure, and expands opportunities for everyday recreation. Replacing the existing equipment will deliver modern, safe and accessible facilities, encourage more active use of the park, and improve the overall presentation and appeal of the space.

The current curved metal stretching bars were designed for basic mobility and low-intensity exercises but are now outdated, limited in function.

The equipment is designed primarily for low-impact mobility and basic bodyweight movements. The equipment supports a range of exercises including hamstring and calf stretches, hip mobility drills, upper-body warm-ups, side bends, and balance work. Depending on the height and angle, they can also be used for modified push-ups, assisted squats, step-overs, and light core activation.

How will my feedback be used?

We will be gathering ideas from the community and then determining what can be delivered within the available budget and timeframes. Your feedback will help us understand your vision and what you would like to see in this space.
