We asked for feedback on the draft Victoria Park Master Plan to help prioritise the recommended actions and provide additional comment on the overall direction of the Plan.

Project Update

Council has listened to extensive stakeholder and community input on the Draft Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) Master Plan and has made a number of changes to incorporate the feedback.

On 9 July 2024 Council endorsed the Master Plan that provides a clear vision to reinforce the Park’s important strategic links to the city and addresses:

• Additional tree canopy, shade and greening particularly, but not exclusively, at the northern end of the Park.
• Planning for a hospitable and landscaped environment to address a future, hotter climate.
• The cultural and social values of the park.
• Remnant native plant and animal habitat and original vegetation.
• Many informal and formal uses of the park.
• The desire for an inspiring and sustainable landscape

High priority recommendations of the Master Plan will be progressed to detail design through 2024/25. Council looks forward to delivering new community outcomes and improving the existing assets of the Park.
