We would like your feedback on the tree planting in the area between the new Adelaide Aquatic Centre and Barton Terrace West.

State Government’s new Adelaide Aquatic Centre project is on track for completion this summer in Adelaide’s Northern Park Lands at Pardipardinyilla / Denise Norton Park (Park 2).

The city of Adelaide is inviting feedback on the Adelaide Park Lands interface along Barton Terrace West.
  • The scope of the works is for new tree planting to complement the State Government’s landscaping as a part of the new Aquatic Centre.
  • The City of Adelaide is looking to undertake its tree planting in April - May 2026.
  • The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) provided multiple opportunities in early and late 2022 for the community to provide feedback during the site selection and concept design phases of the project to ensure community needs and expectations were considered in the final design.

Why are we planting trees?

The State Government is committed to planting 355 trees as a part of the new Aquatic Centre project.

Why have the proposed species been selected?

The species have been selected to complement the existing landscape and reinforce the urban address of The Adelaide Park Lands on Barton Terrace West.

How will the trees be cared for after planting?

Trees will be inspected and watered during the establishment period.
