The footpath and kerb ramp project was completed in June 2024.

This highly complex project delivered the renewal of footpaths, brought kerb ramps up to Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliance and upgraded traffic signalling to support the flow of traffic; all the while avoiding significant telecommunication services in the area. Some minor upgrades to stormwater infrastructure were required to facilitate the movement of stormwater in the area.

We would like to acknowledge the patience of businesses and commuters in the area throughout the construction period.

What are we doing at the intersection of Waymouth Street, Topham Mall and Bentham Street?

This intersection project is aimed at renewing kerb ramps in the area and bringing them up to compliance under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA).

The project scope will also include:

  • Footpath renewal in the north east corner
  • Minor traffic signal upgrades
  • Minor stormwater upgrades

The project is scheduled for construction late-March through mid-June 2024 in line with the Annual Business Plan 2023/24. The design is focused on providing DDA compliant kerb ramps with minimal impact to significant telecommunication assets also located in the area.
