We're reaching out to people who live in the City of Adelaide to take part in our latest Resident Survey. Whether you've lived here for decades or just moved in, your experiences and insights help us understand what’s working, what could be better, and what you’d love to see more of. Your feedback will directly influence the services, programs, and activities we deliver—everything from parks and public spaces to events and community support. It’s your city, and this is your chance to help shape its future.
The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and includes questions about:
- Council services
- City living
- Sustainability
- Park Lands
- Health and wellbeing
- Community connection

The survey provides rich, quality, local level data that is relevant to the needs of the City of Adelaide. The insight from the survey may inform:
- the strategic and operational priorities of the City of Adelaide
- activities to improve the city residential experience
- activities to promote the city (as a place to live, work or play)
- activity around wellbeing and resilience
- advocacy to other levels of government
- Park Lands planning and activations
- progress against objectives in the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, and future planning
The information from previous surveys has been used to:
- Inform engagement and activities for resource recovery.
- Understand residents’ environment choices and position marketing for community activities and the incentives on offer through the Sustainability Incentives Scheme.
- Provide part of the evidence base for developing the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan.
- Track progress on priorities around wellbeing and resilience, safety, arts and culture.
- Define programs and activities to support the wellbeing of young people living in the city.
- Inform promotions and activities for National Nutrition Week and the review of the Public Health Plan.
- Assist residents with planning for emergencies.
- Assist Council with determining service priorities and to measure service performance.
- Inform advocacy to other levels of government.
- Inform the review of Community Land Management Plans.
- Inform events and activations as part of the Mainstreets Revitalisation Program.
- Inform the development of a City Plan.
To complete the survey, we ask that you:
- live in Adelaide (5000) or North Adelaide (5006). You can own or rent the property you live in, but Adelaide or North Adelaide must where you usually live (“usually” means you have lived there or intend to live there for at least six months).
- are aged 18 years or older.
People who are not eligible include people who are:
- Property owners in Adelaide or North Adelaide who usually LIVE elsewhere
- Visitors on holiday who live elsewhere.
- City of Adelaide employees.
No, participants will not be identified.
- Responses are anonymous and will not be attributed to an individual. All responses will be viewed as an aggregate across the whole sample of respondents. Your comments will not be linked directly to you.
- Data collected will only be used for City of Adelaide purposes and will not be sold or shared with any third party. Specifically:
- If you opt into the prize draw at the conclusion of the survey, your data will only be used to make contact if you are a winner.
- If you opt in to register for focus
group discussions, your data will only be used to make contact regarding future
focus groups.
- If you opt in to receive the Our Adelaide e-newsletter, your data will only be used to send you emails about community-related news.
- If you opt to register with the Our Adelaide, your data that you provide on registration will only be used to keep you informed of future engagement projects or to invite you to participate in future studies and resident panels relating to subjects you have expressed an interest in.
