City Works Permit Application - Wright Street

Project Information

The City of Adelaide (CoA) asking for feedback on two applications for City Works Permits from Techne Build Pty Ltd.

Application 1

The east and westbound road closure of Wright Street between Whitmore Square and Field Street from 7am to 7pm daily between Friday 3 October 2025 to Sunday 5 October 2025 to facilitate the installation of a tower crane. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, alternative commencement dates for the works are 4 October, 5 October, 6 October, or 7 October.

Application 2

The north and southbound road closure of Wright Street between Whitmore Square and Field Street from 8pm to 6am nightly between Wednesday 8 October to Sunday 12 October 2025 to facilitate road alterations for the construction of a hotel building. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, alternative commencement dates for the works are 9 October, 10 October, 11 October, 12 October or 15 October.

Under Section 223 of The Local Government Act (SA)1999, CoA has a legislative requirement to consult the public if it proposes to grant an authorisation or permit (following receipt of an application for a City Works Permit) for works 'that would result in any part of a road being fenced, enclosed or partitioned so as to impede the passage of traffic to a material degree'.
