The City of Adelaide (CoA) asked for feedback on an application for a City Works Permit from Kyren Pty Ltd for:
The full closure of Franklin Street between Bentham Street and Young Street from Saturday 15 February 2025 7:00am – 5:00pm and Sunday 16 February 2025 9:00am – 5:00pm* to facilitate the removal of a tower crane.
(*in the event of unforeseen circumstances alternative commencement dates for the works are either 22 February, 1 March, or 8 March 2025.)
Under Section 223 of The Local Government Act (SA)1999, CoA has a legislative requirement to consult the public if it proposes to grant an authorisation or permit (following receipt of an application for a City Works Permit) for works 'that would result in any part of a road being fenced, enclosed or partitioned so as to impede the passage of traffic to a material degree'.
